House Of The Sun #505GS

Rental is in a great location, convenient to just about everything you would need. Unit was clean and met our needs. Only complaint I can think of was that the bath towels were terrible, stained and non absorbent. So bring your own and you will need your own beach towels as none are supplied. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Condo was spacious, had a great view and a good sized balcony. It is especially nice to have a washer and dryer in the condo for longer stays.

It was a wonderful vacation once again. Our place is comfortable and the staff is great. We have great friends.

It was ok. Our rental needs a facelift. The entire property is aged. The $20.00 fee for guests is abominable. When you have four adults staying in the same condo and they have to drive separately it is ridiculous. It is also ridiculous for friends who live in the area have to pay $20.00 for a couple of hours visit.

We booked very last minute to extend our stay after staying at a different condominium. The unit was perfectly fine in regards to view and you really can’t beat the location-right on the beach. We enjoy the closeness to the beach, a pool, and even the tennis court. Across the street are many restaurants, bars, shops, ice cream shops, etc. The location couldn’t be any better. The rules on the beach are a bit ridiculous though, especially when traveling with a 10 month old and being told you can’t put up a baby tent, you have to set your chairs in a very specific place (someone has to tell you where on the beach you can set your chairs), you can only get 2 chairs per your unit, etc. The beach rules are absurd and really turned us off for the first few days, especially having 4 people in the unit with only 2 chairs and having a 3 year old and 10 month old and not being able to put up a baby tent for the young kids. The beach rules are really the biggest reason we would question returning, other than that the location was great and units are perfect size. Also, having a washer and dryer is wonderful.

Over all it was wonderful! 505GS does needs some up dating. The recliner in the living room is impossible, new pillows needed for the master bedroom, and the chair at the vanity needs a new seat. The patio doors need new rollers!!!

Have stayed at HOS before. Really enjoy it but a 25% increase in rates is too much.

There is beach chair confusion. This could be remedied by being included in the contract. You get 2 yellow chairs for a unit of 4. You can purchase and umbrella for 15.00 per day it comes with 2 white chairs. Information ahead is the key to not upsetting your guest. Just a thought.

The last 3 condos we have rented (at other places) have had more items that were shared with us, like beach towels for example. There was only ONE beach towel in the condo. When I asked the front desk about it, they said they do not require their owners to have a certain number of beach towels. Ok this is a beach place but if I have to buy some I will and then they can keep them in there for other users. Pay it forward right? Nope the front desk said they would be discarded after we left.
Also, the entry doors to condos are inside with carpeted hallways and it feels old. I was allergic. It seemed our whole family was. When the air conditioning unit came on, it smelled mildewy. Thankfully we were able to open windows.
However we loved the rooftop, the beach area is beautiful with some palm trees for shade. Nice pool, nice location within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We had a good time and it was a decent price, thank you.

My Mom and a couple of her friends have been coming here for a long time every October. House of the Sun is one of the best spots on Siesta Key, in our opinion. I was finally able to rent a unit with my husband this year and hope we will also be able to return next year. This unit was a little more dated than others, but all are extremely clean and comfortable. The front desk staff is always excellent! I hate to recommend "House" as the place to stay because I don't want all the units rented before I have a chance to reserve my week or two, but I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

We had a wonderful vacation topped off with my son getting engaged on the beach surrounded by our friends!! Even the hurricane that swept through couldn't ruin our stay although the constant beeping from the construction crew next to our building made sleeping in difficult.

We have been coming to the House of the Sun for about 7 years. We have enjoyed staying in 505GS for most of those years but it does need some updating. The recliner doesn’t work properly, the carpets need to be replaced, the chair in the master bedroom needs to be replaced, and we don’t know why they have turned the huge armoire so we can’t watch TV anymore.

This is the third time we have stayed at The House of Sun. It has always been a great place to stay. The units are clean comfortable and so convenient to use.

Thoroughly enjoyed our condo rental with The House of Sun the week of March 20th, 2021. The unit, property, outdoor decks, pool and beach area were all well kept and comfortable. The location convenient to many restaurants and shops. Thank you.

Very happy with the overall property and location. The unit we stayed is in need of an update, particularly the stained carpeting in bedrooms. Staff is very helpful and we will book there as long as we continue to spend time in Florida.

Great vacation as always in Siesta. This unit does need updating especially compared to the other units at House of the Sun but it is still a very nice place to stay.

I could not have had a better experience! The property was everything you could ask for, great location and beautiful beach!

We will certainly return, but would like to see a few improvements made in #505.
Carpeting is in need of a major cleaning or replacing. Screens on patio door have a few holes that prevent using for fear of letting in flying friends. Refrigerator door is so close to wall that it will not open properly and you need to turn items sideways to get them into refrigerator. Reclining chair does not close properly and needs to be one of these items would cause us not to return, but fixing them would certainly enhance the experience.

The room is very nice. A little noisy sometimes we must of been there while some outside maintence was going on in OCtober.

Unit in poor condition. Many upgrades needed. Have stayed there 4-6 times over the years and this was a very disappointing experience for the $ spent. Management and maintenance very helpful in spite of it all.
